90th Anniversary Celebration

90 Years of Giving

The Zonta Club of Warren celebrated its 90thAnniversary on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Members from Buffalo, Corry, Jamestown, and Warren Zonta Clubs and guests gathered at the Jefferson Defrees Family Center for an open house from 10-12PM. There were displays of vintage clothing worn by working women through the decades by the Warren County Historical Society and Cathy Johnson in the Hawke Room. In the Wetmore Room were historical displays of Zonta Club of Warren and scrapbooks dating back to the 1940’s along with refreshements. The Jefferson Defrees Family Center was the site of Zonta Club of Warren’s first meeting. Three proclamations were delivered to President Melinda Johnson. Mary Kushner, Field Representative of Senator Scott Hutchison, State Representative Kathy Rapp, and County Commissioner Ben Kafferlin each read and presented their proclamations to the members of Zonta wishing the best for the future and recognizing all that Zonta has done in the Warren community.

Zonta members and guests proceeded to the Conewango Club for lunch. Harpist Ellen Paquette provided beautiful music during the luncheon. Following lunch, all were treated to a presentation by Jane Fischer. Jane is the Founder of Improv Connections and considers herself to be a Creative Change Facilitator. Her message was to find happiness in daily life in the little things. President Johnson awarded yellow roses to various guests and members for their contributions to the day. Thanks goes out to the members who worked tirelessly to provide such a lovely day to celebrate 90 years of giving.
