2020 Lucky Numbers Luncheon - March 7, 2020
The Zonta Club of Warren hosted their 22nd Annual Lucky Numbers Luncheon at the Conewango Club on Saturday, March 7, 2020. More than 200 women participated in this Zonta fundraiser in which proceeds go towards community service projects plus annual scholarships. The club also raises funds through pecan sales each November. According to the Lucky Numbers event chairwoman, Jean Denardi, the event was successful for fellowship as well as gaining funds to support the goals of Zonta.
During the luncheon, President Melinda Johnson announced the recipients of the annual community grants. The League of Women Voters and the Children,s Advocacy Center, two non-profit entities that support to women and their families in our area. These organizations exemplify Zonta’s objective to improve the status of women.
Each year, Warren Zontians participate in several local community projects. In addition, funds also support A Safe Place, Girl Scouts, Don Mills Achievement Center, Jefferson DeFrees Family Center, Salvation Army and the Hi Ed School to work program. Internationally, funds support programs that provide health care and education for women in third world countries, including the birthing kits that Warren Zontians prepare to send to an underdeveloped country.
